In the past I have had a lot to say about the makeup choices some celeb's went with at previous Emmy's shows; this year however I dont have much to say on a negative front. Most of the ladies went with simple clean makeup looks; not too many adventurous moves on that front; however Leighton Meester while looking beautiful in her simple white gown, no doubt had one of the worst makeup looks of the evening; her eyes were competing with her lips which is never a good idea. Always emphasize one of your facial features at a time, not all together. Even so her makeup still wasn't as disastrous as previous award show attendees.
There were a few dresses that had me rolling my eyes on the carpet this year as well, but nothing over the top as we've seen in previous years. Sarah Silvermans dress was a great shade of blue, but the cut did nothing for the comedians figure other than giving her lines for her next stand up act. Victoria Rowell's Obama dress was just a bit too tacky for the "RED CARPET", cute cut, but political statements are never a good idea for formal attire! Kristen Wiig had some of the darkest eye makeup for the night (Kudos there) and by far the most depressing dress, the black ensemble that looked like it had spider webs for sleeves did not impress me, but her more daring smokey eye was indeed a welcomed change from the rest of the evenings clean and riskless makeup jobs.
All in all I have to say I am slightly disappointed by the lack of adventure in wardrobe this year. Everyone looked good, but no one stood out as looking GREAT this year (one perk of taking a risk and having it pay off "looking breathtakingly gorgeous"); like wise no one looked so bad that
the risk of peeing my pants from laughing so hard was there.
I am hoping the next couple award shows can make up for the lack of ingenuity last night.

Going on in September 2009
Alright Folks,
I am still terrified, but super excited at the same time to audition for "It's a Wonderful Life" on the 19th. I am hoping this new hobby of mine will give me some freedom back; I just mean I can possibly find me in this shell of a body again through this venture. WISH ME LUCK!
Also The USMC Ball is coming up for some it is next month in October and for many others it is November. If you need to book makeup services...DO IT SOON!
I am also meeting with Mrs. Orange County International The Lovely Shana Smith to see about bringing some really great new programs into action later this year. We will also be making tentative plans for our First ever Masquerade Benefit Dinner Ball to hopefully take place end of next summer. The benefit dinner will help foundations assisting in the reconstruction of female and children's lives after abuse or abandonment.
After all of this, I am sure there will be more to report, but for now that is that :0)

Fall Newsletter 2009
Summer has officially come to an end for 2009. It is still hot here in Southern California; however the trends for fall are still moving forward. This year GRAY has made a come back resurrected from the 1920's. Of course in 2009 no one is going to walk around in flapper sheik, however the shadow favorite from the flapper era is coming back with a 2009 flare. Metallic is a great addition to the old favorite; silver, pale golds, and pearls are the comeback kids this season. A great way to wear silver this year is on the eyes.
Here's how:
After using a light foundation and matte powder on the face (remember anytime you wear heavier makeup you want your complexion fresh and clean, no pimples, sun spots, rough spots). Remember your favorite blush and if you pencil in your brows always do this before you start your eye makeup.
Fall has also revamped some hair styles from the prohibition age as well. Finger waves are a hit with designer's, but a pain in the butt for the general public (trust me). Instead opt for a triple barrel curling iron; this will give you beautiful waves that you can pin down or wear loose and flowing. For a more formal look, buns are preferred this season to french twists and pony tails. Buns are simple, but sometimes getting the sleek look can be challenging for some hair types.

Skin is going to slow down in cell rejuvenation as we get further into fall, use a soft scrub or a textured skin sponge when you cleanse your face to help shed extra dead skin cells. Make sure to keep your skin moisturized to prevent over drying during the fall months. What you do on the outside will greatly help the condition of your skin, however you have to take care of your skin from the inside out as well. As the weather gets colder your body will require more water to keep in its heat so in the winter you actually need to drink more water than usual so your skin can maintain it water content. I recommend between eight and twelve 8oz glasses of water a day especially if you drink coffee, tea, or alcohol (all of which are dehydrators).
As far as our body goes, make sure to get plenty of exercise during the fall months as well. You may not want to venture outdoors for a run (unless your in Southern California), however you can utilize local resources. Curves has a great 30 min circuit program, local gyms are having promotional pricing now, and you might have some equipment of your own that you may want to dust off and start using again. In the fall more people feel depressed and gloom as the weather turns colder and the nostalgic feeling of summer has gone, physical exercise helps keep our moods from turning too far south, it burns pent up energy, stress, and helps keep the fall and winter pounds off. I prefer a regimen of lifting and cardio; lifting helps boost your metabolism while cardio helps burn off fat and excess calories. SO HAPPY RUNNING TO YOU! (even if its on a treadmill)
Local Produce is an awesome way to enjoy new foods and get rich antioxidants in the fall. Produce that is locally in season during the fall is at its peek in nutrients so look up what is in season in your region and find some recipes to use them in. For fall I love pumpkin breads, squash and zucchini, apples, and sweet potatoes. A great recipe for fall that you can enjoy as a dessert or a snack is pumpkin bread. You can also use the excess pumpkin pulp as a great acidic peel for your hands and feet. This is a good recipe and video from allrecipes.com (http://allrecipes.com/HowTo/Making-Pumpkin-Bread-Video/Detail.aspx). For a peel use a arger can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) and use the extra pumpkin for a peel; apply the pumpkin to your feet and hands, leave on for up to five minutes and rinse off. Your skin will be slightly pink at first, but they will be super smooth after wards. DO NOT USE PUMPKIN ON SKIN IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC!
A great Hollywood Secret for Fall is lemon yogurt! Lemon yogurt makes a great mask for your face; its high in both lactic and citric acids that eat away dead skin and clean deep dwon into the pores while softening skin. Try the mask on your nose and you'll see how effective it is at cleaning away those black heads we all get on the sides of our nostrils. If you are allergic to dairy, I would not recommend using this mask; I prefer using "Continental" brand low fat or fat free lemon yogurt.

After using a light foundation and matte powder on the face (remember anytime you wear heavier makeup you want your complexion fresh and clean, no pimples, sun spots, rough spots). Remember your favorite blush and if you pencil in your brows always do this before you start your eye makeup.
- Apply a sheer layer of pearl shimmer all over the eyes from upper lash line to the bottom of the brows (remember a light layer!)
- Next apply a black liner to the upper lash line from the inner corners to the last lashes. Smudge the liner to take the harsh edge down a notch.
- After your liner apply a dark silver or black shadow to the crease of your eyes starting at the outer corners and blending inward.
- Next apply a sheer pale gold or a sheer silver to the eye lid, make sure to blend the silver with the bottom edge of the crease shadow.
- After your shadow is blended curl your lashes and apply your favorite black mascara.
- For Day wear this is enough, however for night wear you will want to add a thin line of cake or liquid liner in black before your mascara. False lashes are fun in the evening too, but make sure you practice the technique of applying the lashes before you attempt to do so when your makeup is complete (you don't want to have to start over if you get lash glue all over your lids)
